I brought the heat to the Go Bananas Contest Wednesday, I didn't check my ego with the doorman(the Stork), I let it run wild and it payoff. I made it to the finals. Then last night I went to the Killers concert, one hell of show it remind me some eighties new wave.

Anyways I've been on a cheesy music kick, Billy Squier, Eddie Money, and Loverboy's Turn Me Loose, that song has an awesome bass riff , don't believe me , download it for yourself.

Wow, so I was afraid Mike Cody my bitch at me for not writing on my blog here goes. I'm not going to do a monster long entry like him, but I'll give a taste of the past five nights of performing.
Saturday-West Covington Booster It was paid gig, I did a long drunken set.

Sunday-FunnyBone on the Levee Guest at the Jim Florentine show, good set for being hungover.

Monday-Taylor's Pub- A dicking around set with new stuff.

Tuesday-Comedy Caravan-Solid Seven Minutes, got to hang with old Ludlow boys.

Wednesday-Go Bananas-Great Set, a chick from Myspace came, which was sweet.

That's it, nothing to insightful, but it will appease the blog readers.

Well I've always had a deep respect, And I mean that most sincerely. Your Comedy is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh by the way, which one's Dunwoody? Ah my little Pink Floyd parody(keeping with my Pink Floyd theme, blog readers) for Mike Cody SierraMist Funniest Person in Cincinnati Contest. The sly cat busted out new stuff at a contest, genius move. I just went with my greatest hits rotation, and left one of my bits out of the set(Thanks Darin, for the fact check). I still felt I did well and had a great time overall, everyone brought their A game.

The writing session was interesting, Jeff had brought in this write and rant exercise for us to do, at first I was reluctant to get on board (I thought it was bullshit), but once I got on board with it. I thought it was very beneficial, albeit emotionally draining. Ok enough with the snappy stuff, I'm pretty geeked up cus I just got the new Pink Floyd book written by the drummer Nick Mason from the library. So that's going to be pretty sweet reading that.

Last night I came in first in the SierraMist competition first round at the Funnybone Newport on the Levee, I was kinda shocked everyone did a really good job. I felt kinda like a bastard, cus i have been only doing this 8 months, but i guess it really depends on the crowd and everyone's performance that night. It could have easly been someone else. I'm glad I didn't have to stoop to the corporate schill level like some people, (clears throat) Mike Cody, whore. Just kidding Mike Cody, you and your cat Dunwoody rule even if you like to drink Sierra Mist, listen to Kiss 107.1 fm and spoon thats your thing chief. To each his own.

The latest comedy trend in the Nati scene, beards. The Dave Waite Project sports one, Jeff Tate's Ego has a beard, Kackler is getting a beard, the relovution has a bearded dude, Brad. The Stork shaved his off like a week ago, I guess its some sort of punk rock thing. Who's next Mike Cody and Dunwoody, what about a suprise pick Opie, uh, or Butch gives up the Goatee and goes with a full beard who knows.

Delta Haus R.I.P.

At 11:40am eastern standard time, while at the Dave Waite offsite location(work), I was informed by Mike Ritchie the Delta Haus was no more, no more bowling game, no more $2 beers, no more comedy night. This turned my mood ugly, a bit nasty. Its stupid to get pissed over something you dont have control of, but nonetheless it happens. We had a good thing going there, but thats part of the business of comedy and one must adapt, I guess I'll be pounding the pavement, trying to drum up another comedy night at some place, it won't be as warm and fuzzy.

What Shall We Do Now?

I was Back at the Bone last night and had a pretty good set, it was nice to be back where I started. The crowd was kinda sluggish, the place was about half full, I wish there would have been more people there , but after hearing the Joker's show was cancelled, I'm just happy that we had what he had.

I recently got done reading the Googlewhack Adventures, a great funny book, written by Dave Gorman an English comedian (www.davegorman.com).

As for Mitch Hedberg dying well that sucks, we all have our demons some worse than others. I'm just glad I did get a chance to see him perform at the Funnybone last month. I know he had a profound impact on some of the local comics and the personal relationship they had with him and for them I feel truly sorry. His impact on the comedy world will be remembered for a long time.

Kip and the Gillman were working there collective game pretty hard last night on some honeys at Bar Louie, which was truly depressing for me, (sighs).

Also until further notice all blog entry titles will be Pink Floyd/Roger Waters song titles or album names.

Hey folks I completed my first week of mcing at Go Bananas it was awesome to say the least. I wasn't happy with all my performances, but the experience was great. I like to thank the club, Jeremy Essig (jeremyessig.com), Pat Dixon (http://www.comedianpatdixon.com/), and Danny Bevins http://www.dannybevins.biz/ . Those guys were great to work with and very funny dudes so you should check out there sites. Also Jeff K. for letting me crash at your place Friday even though the weasels waking me up was weird for sure and Matt "the Stork" Stanton for hooking me up with some bootleg wine Saturday that was the bomb. Wow a blog entry where I didn't talk about myself that's a first.

Fields of Delta Haus

I was worried when I arrived at the Haus and there only a couple of regulars, but by the end of the show the audience had grow in size maybe double or triple the size sure they didn't out number the comedians, but that does that matter , no. If you have an open mic in mainstrauss every other tuesday they will come, sure this is hack, but I have to write something to keep the avid blog reading bitches happy alright. Peace.

LOL, Good question, first off i think its funny, I used to say it when i was with my buddies and i was telling them what i wanted to do like the Dave Waite wants to go to the bar. It kinda impilies like there is an imposter out there, some phony dave waite. Also it allows me to be detach from the real world. Does that help, it made me more confused.

Delta Haus

Showtime at the Funny Bone

I had planned on going to the comedy writing group at Go Bananas, but it was cancelled. I really had the comedy juices flowing so I decided to go the Apollo Night at the Funny Bone. It was a totally different experience, I didn't booed during my set which was a positive, but I go no real solid laughs either. Only a handful of a laughs, i don't know if you can have a handful of laughs, but whatever. I made it to the 2 minutes and 30 second mark before I got played off the stage.
